- O Spirit, fill our hearts,
so full of sin and grief,
with words that fill us with thy life,
dispelling unbelief. - When left to our own way,
abiding in the flesh,
we choose not thee, O Christ, alas;
we turn to wickedness. - Yet as the Father grants,
according to his plan,
he gives eternal life to those
who from his presence ran. - To whom then shall we go?
We trust and rest in thee,
who from our fears and sins and grief
has come to set us free!
